SGT Adam James Ray
Adam James Ray wanted to be a Soldier since the time his third grade class visited a war museum. From that day forward Adam loved everything about the Military and the idea of protecting others. From the oversized bully down the street to the deserts of Afghanistan, Adam was always chasing the bullies.
On February 9, 2010 Adams unit 5-2, 4/23rd Stryker Infantry Unit from Joint Base Lewis McCord in Washington was patrolling a dirt road . My son, Sgt. Adam Ray was inspecting a ditch for possible IEDs when a member of Al Queada cowardly hid in a bush with a remote control and set off an IED, mortally injuring my son. Adam died on the operating table later that day.
