HONOR BREWING COMPANY SALUTES FAMILIES OF THE FALLEN

Launches National #GoldStarToast on September 1st

Washington, DC, August 22, 2016 – This year marks the 15th anniversary of one of the most horrific days in United States history – the attacks of September 11, 2001. Everyone remembers where they were, what they were doing, who they were with and what channel they watched helplessly when our nation was attacked and the World Trade Center towers crumbled. It was an eerily quiet day in people’s offices and homes across the country, and it’s a day that is indelibly etched in our memory.

It’s because of these terrorist attacks on American soil that many young men and women courageously joined the United States military. They felt the need and the call to duty to protect our freedoms. LCpl Christopher Jacob Levy and SPC Stephan L. Mace joined the military because they wanted a safer world for their families. They, and many brave servicemen and women, were killed in action fulfilling their duty and protecting the freedoms of our citizens.

Rarely do people talk about or discuss the pain and anguish the families of the fallen soldiers endure on a daily basis. After these families bury their children, they are expected to go back to their daily lives as if nothing ever happened. They never discuss how these families cope or what they do to honor their child; but Honor Brewing Company is leading a change. They are discussing how these families cope, they are remembering their children, and they are educating everyday people on what a Gold Star family represents.

To help change the model, Honor Brewing Company is launching a national toast September 1st – September 30th.  This event is appropriately called the #GoldStarToast. Supporters like Northern Virginia restaurant group www.buffalowingfactory.com have created “Golden Wings” as their flavor of the month with $1.00 from every order going to Hope For the Warriors www.hopeforthewarriors.org and Washington, DC locations www.rebelliondc.com and www.commodoredc.com will donate $1.00 from every Honor craft beer sold in September to Angels of America’s Fallen www.aoafallen.org  This will allow families, friends, and supporters of fallen soldiers to come together to remember the fallen - to unite as one group and share stories of their heroes. In addition to these toasting events, distributors of Honor Brewing Company and Honor Winery products, along with participating partners, will donate a portion of their sales during the month of September to nonprofits that support families of fallen soldiers. Each of these toasting events will happen throughout September leading up to an all-encompassing national toast on Sunday, September 25th – National Gold Star Mother’s Day. There are respective toasting events in all major cities across the United States. You can visit www.honorbrewing.com/gold-star-toast to learn about a toasting event in your area.

David Keuhner, Partner, Honor Brewing Company and Honor Winery, states, “The #GoldStarToast allows us to discuss and honor the families of the fallen. It’s these families that have endured so much and it’s because of them that their child’s story will live on.” Each day in September Honor will release a story on social media of a fallen soldier. This story is told from the point of view of the family and how they continue to pay tribute to their child.

“Our goals at Honor are very simple.  We honor those who serve our country while giving back.  It’s not always about money, it’s about giving of oneself and understanding these men, women and their families have volunteered to serve our country.  My family and my business partners’ families have given over 100 years of service to our country and now it’s time to do more.  We look at craft beer and wine as a way to raise a glass in their honor while celebrating their commitment, loyalty and courage for serving our country.  It’s our way of saying Thank You and Never Forgetting.”

Honor Brewing Company and Honor Winery not only make quality craft beers and wine, but they honor those who serve our country while giving back to charities for the fallen and injured.  In the last 16 months, Honor has raised and donated over $225,000 to charities of the fallen and injured.  Most recently, they raised $34,000 for retired NFL player Jared Allen’s charity Homes for Wounded Warriors after selling three large formats of their 2012 Honor Russian River Pinot Noir in collaboration with Kosta Browne Winery.  Currently distributed in Virginia, North Carolina, Michigan, Florida, Illinois, Tennessee, Texas, Minnesota, Maine, Pennsylvania, Washington, DC and Georgia, and with many more states coming on board over the next 12 months, they honor veterans and the fallen. They raise a glass of their special craft beer or wine in their memory, dedicate a six pack with their tribute story or they honor them by placing custom dog tags in their patent pending Tribute Tap in their memory in the veteran’s hometown.

Honor Brewing Company Matches DC Police Reward

$1,000 Reward Doubles for Information in Decorated Marine’s Beating

WASHINGTON, DC – February 18, 2016 – On February 12th, Bronze Star recipient, United States Marine Corps veteran, SGT. Christopher Marquez, was beaten and robbed of his belongings at a McDonald’s restaurant in the 900 block of E Street, NW. He was left unconscious and for dead by three unnamed suspects. To help in identifying these suspects, Honor Brewing Company is matching the $1,000 reward offered by the Metropolitan Police Department.

SGT. Marquez earned a Bronze Star with combat "V" in Iraq and helped carry then-1st SGT. Bradley Kasal out of Fallujah’s “Hell House.”

David Keuhner, Partner, Honor Brewing Company, believes more needs to be done in identifying and arresting the three suspects involved in the assault of SGT. Marquez. “We have clients and customers contacting us who are willing to donate and to raise money for information and the arrest of these men. Honor Brewing Company will match the $1,000 reward offered by the Metropolitan Police Department, and we are prepared to increase that reward, if need be” said Keuhner. “Our military men and women raise their hands to serve our country – a young man that served his country is attending school to better himself, should not be treated this way. It’s truly a disgrace by our society that we’re even having this conversation.”

Honor Brewing Company pays tribute to fallen soldiers to guarantee they are never forgotten. Not only does Honor make quality craft beers, but also they honor those who serve our country while giving back to charities of the fallen and injured. In the last 18 months, Honor has raised and donated over $200,000 to charities of the fallen and injured. Currently distributed in Virginia, North Carolina, Michigan, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Pennsylvania with many more states coming on board over the next 12 months, they honor veterans and the fallen by raising a glass of their special craft beer, dedicating a six pack with their tribute story or they honor them by placing custom dog tags in a Tribute Tap in their memory at respective locations throughout the country in the veteran’s home town.

Patriotic Rock Band Headlines Benefit for Wounded Veteran

Madison Rising and Honor Brewing Fundraise for Cpl. Tim Donley (USMC) Allentown, PA

September 28, 2015 – There are an array of patriotic tunes that assist us in remembering the sacrifice that many soldiers gave all to protect our freedoms. Some military heroes, however, “gave all,” but still need our help. Cpl. Tim Donley (USMC) is one such hero. Cpl. Donley was serving in Afghanistan when he encountered an IED attack. As a result of the explosion, Donley lost both of his legs above the knee; his right arm, elbow and hands sustained injury, including severe nerve damage. His day-to-day life is about surviving, but Donley wants more than to just survive. “My family has lived overseas since before I was born and have rented homes and apartments in many locations. With a smart home, I will have a specific location to live and function. I can be independent in a smart home and concentrate on going back to school and finding a job that I love, rather than expending all of my energy just surviving,” expressed Donley.

Madison Rising and Honor Brewing Company have partnered with Warriors’ Watch Riders and Humble Hearts for Hope, Inc. to host a benefit concert to support Cpl. Donley’s efforts in receiving a smart home. Donley is fortunate to have the support of family, friends, and his church community to assist in his recovery process. However, a smart home will have a positive impact on Donley’s day-to-day life. The benefit concert is scheduled for October 9 th at 7:30pm at The Palace Center in Allentown, PA.

Honor Brewing Company does its part in paying the mission forward of assisting wounded veterans. “Our goals at Honor are very simple. We honor those who serve our country while giving back. Washington, DC, September 8, 2015  This year marks the 14thanniversary of one of the most horrific days in United States history  the attacks of September 11, 2001.
